WELCOME!!!!

A few female friends gather every new moon to honor our selves and our cycles. Inspired by the book The Red Tent, we have stitched together a collection of various shades of red fabrics which we often hoist to designate our meeting place. We've also tie-dyed dresses for the event... usually we eat well, do some creative project, just relax, and treasure our family and friendships. Contact Debra@Motherhouse.us or call 860-671-7945 if you'd like to join us.

The next new moon falls on April 26. We hope to continue our "Honoring our Foremothers" Book-Making project; a 5X5 accordion book celebrating women who have been personally influential, inspiring in our lives. After sharing stories about how the women we've chosen have uplifted and/or empowered us, we'll compose tributes to them.

BEEing in the Light!

Baby Ezra's first New Moon Gathering with friend Sarah.
Thanks to the bees for storing up sunshine!

Tal, Abi, and Darwin hand-dipping and braiding beeswax candles so we'll be able to enjoy the soft light from honey-scented beeswax during the up-coming light-starved season.

Rachel gives Margaret a hair trim... so she can SEE the light!

Dasher Lickin' Good

First,
we mucked
the cow shed.
Then we set up our tent.

Rachel and Darwin gave us their specially concocted base for frozen honey berry yogurt.

We cranked
   and cranked
and cranked,

UNTIL...

 YUM!

Spring (water)Fall

Hiking Kent Falls in honor of International Water Day
Our gathering suddenly swelled as other moms and daughters flowed into the brook.
We sang as many water songs as we could think of
and designed pocket guides to our desires

R U Fond o' Fondu?

Plans to make Valentine cards inspired us to welcome in the Chinese New Year with origami boxes, crocheted hearts, and chocolate fondu

Trying to follow Margaret's flying paper-folding fingers
Rachel sang as she showed us how
"First you make a loop...
then you take some yarn...
...and start all over again"

Good friends!
Good food!
That's all she wrote!
